    Arestor is the answer to the complex mix of cloud providers specific HTTP metadata implementation and formats. It is very hard to have at our disposal various OpenStack, CloudStack, MAAS deployments with various hardware or configurable requirements, when all we need is just a controlled way in which to access the cloud specific metadata. This way, we can have the instances spawned up using only an OpenStack environment, which considerably simplifies the testing infrastructure.

    In the past 8 months we joined the bcbio-nextgen team and starting working on some critical aspects of the project, including reviewing the architecture and proposing some changes. The changes were needed in order to develop the project further on and ensure easier maintenance.

    After this phase we started to rewrite the bcbio-nextgen-vm project on a modular architecture. The new architecture allows for easier development and maintenance of the project.

    We also focused a lot on abstraction and after we changed the architecture, we added a new cloud provider to the project, namely Microsoft Azure. Currently this version is still in it’s beta phase and is undergoing rigorous testing before replacing the old version.

    In order to help the community to interact more with cloud computing and learn about it, Cloudbase Solutions has come up with a simple VirtualBox driver for OpenStack. This event represents the opportunity to use what you know to build practical applications, starting with projects that we propose and culminating with your first contribution in an open source project.

    If Ask.py represents a slightly opened door to new information and Training.py and Workshop.py build a path to obtaining new skills, then the most pristine event that we offer, Conference.py, represent, through it’s pure size, the final step of the journey.
    This event is the perfect opportunity to find out the things you missed, from the pilgrims of the road we all follow. Our conferences aren't just short fragments in time in which you can discover new facts, but also the chance to build new relationships with people with the same passion for Python.

  • Bitdefender Treasure Hunt

    It was a small technical Treasure Hunt organised at InfoEducatie, a contest in which high school students from across the country gather to compete with different Computer Science projects.
    The participants (aprox. 100) had to solve cryptographic, steganographic, multimedia and algorithmic challenges in order to receive different prizes, sponsored by Bitdefender.
    Each problem led to another in a sequence of 10 challenges for a period of 3 hours.
